I totally clicked with Gabriela. She has a unique background in that she learned UX the ORCA way first, so I felt like I was getting really good feedback and direction from her. Also, even though it might not have mattered which mentor I was paired with, the fact that we had a mentor to provide pointed feedback on each assignment, challenging us to think about the exercise deeper, and to meet with a few times throughout the cohort was definitely critical to my success.

Discovering OOUX in 2015 was a game-changer for my product design journey, providing a solid foundation that has shaped my approach ever since. Becoming a certified strategist in 2020 with the ORCA process expanded my toolkit, empowering me to confidently address complex challenges and be an integral part of early conversations with product managers and engineers. Since 2016, OOUX has given me structure to breaking down UX problems, now with the ORCA process I not only have even more structure to this process, it also makes it easier for important questions to be raised, challenged, and understood by stakeholders earlier in the process.
